ADVERT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BORDER EXPORT ZONE BEZ FACILITIES AT MPONDWE, KASESE DISTRICT
The Government of Uganda has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Great Lakes Trade Facilitation Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards payments under the bids for the Construction of the Border Export Zone (BEZ) Facilities at Mpondwe, Kasese District. The Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for: Construction of BEZ facilities at Mpondwe, approximately 61 kilometers (38mi), by road, southwest of Kasese, where the district headquarters are located. The works consist of Demolitions and Alterations, Stalls, Restaurant Area and Lockups, totaling 3,482 m2 built up area together with all associated MEP services and external works.
Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers January 2011 and revised July 2014 (“Procurement Guidelines”), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of UGX 200,000/= (Uganda Shillings Two Hundred thousand only). The method of payment will be direct deposit to Uganda Revenue Authority collection account. The documents will be sent by email.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 29 July, 2020 at 12:00am (local Time)
Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who choose to attend at the address below on 29 July, 2020 at 12:05am (local Time)
A pre-bid meeting and site visit will be held on 06th and 10th July 2020 respectively. The pre-bid meeting will be held electronically via zoom on the link below.
